Klymit Static V2 Sleeping Pad – Review
The Klymit Static V2 Sleeping Pad is an inflatable mattress with reduced weight and size, excellent technical features and a low price.
During multi-day hikes, high-quality, low-weight equipment is always preferred, and camping mat is the must-have equipment to comfortably sleep and have some thermal insulation from the ground. In this review I will test the Klymit Static V2 sleeping pad, one of the best hiking mats (trekking or hiking pad) for quality, price and weight.
|Dimensions||183 cm x 59 cm x 6.5 cm|
|Material||30D Polyester Fabric (upper side), 75D Polyester (underside)|
The Klymit Static V2 is a mat in 30D polyester fabric on the upper side (green) and 70D on the underside (dark gray) of generous dimensions, 183 cm in length, 59 cm in width and 6.5 cm in thickness and a weight of 463 g which, once folded, occupies an extremely reduced space.
The characteristic shape of the V-shaped design and the small side bearings make it extremely comfortable and the thermal insulation is improved, preventing the sleeping bag from collapsing completely under our weight. The sliding of the mattress under the sleeping bag is extremely contained, silent and comfortable and, after having tried it for a night on a tile floor, I can confirm that it has practically kept its position. These features make it perfect both for use in tents and outdoors, directly on the ground.
The Klymit Static V2 has an insulation R index of 1.3 and is also available in the INSULATED version of the same dimensions but with a weight of 709 g and an insulation R index of 4.4 and produced entirely with 75D polyester fabric, suitable for harsh climates.
I used the Klymit V2 at -10 ° C on an insulating pad (10T – ALUMA, Single Insulating Mat) on bare ground and I have not in any way felt the cold through the mat.
The Klymit Static V2 swells quickly and effortlessly between 10 and 15 breaths through a convenient valve placed in the upper left corner and, in our tests, did not show any loss for the entire period of use. My weight of over 85 kg has in no way put in difficulty the mat that has been used in different ground conditions.
Absolutely reliable for resistance after being used on twigs and with a dog that walks on it, the 70D fabric is a safety and, however, inside the carrying bag there is another small pouch containing in repair kit in punctiring case.
Convenient in any condition it is easily foldable in a few minutes and then stored in the small bag is a mattress to be recommended without any doubt for its excellent technical characteristics.
