Naturehike Cloud Up 2X Ultralight 2 persons – Review
A two layer, self standing, ultralight and spacious tent ?? This is the Naturehike Cloud Up 2 Ultralight tent review … a bestbuy !!
After using for an year the NatureHike Tagar 2 in different conditions and environments we brought the NatureHike CloudUp 2X, a little heavier but probably with best performances in harsh situations.
While NatureHike Tagar 2 is recommended for situations where weight is extremely important and saving even 100g is vital, Cloud Up 2 is definitely the recommended choice to have a complete tent available, albeit remaining ultralight .
Naturehike Cloud Up Ultralight 2-person tent – an All-Around tent
NatureHike’s Cloud Up 2X tent is a two seats, ultra-light and free standing tent made of high-quality materials and with attention to every small detail.
The tent consists of an external sheet in silnylon 20 impermeable to a water column of 4000 mm, an internal sheet divided by an upper part made anti mosquito elastic net and a lower part in silnylon 20d 4000mm.
All NatureHike tents are supplied with a 20D 4000mm ground sheet to be placed under the tent in order to further isolate and in this case allows us to use it to mount the tent in 3 different configurations
The first one, the complete one, with the two sheets and the additional floor underneath
The second one with only the external sheet and the additional floor sheet
The third one with the only mosquito net and the additional floor underneath for the warmer evenings that gives us the chance to admire the stars.
The kit is completed with the ultra light and resistant aeronautical aluminum poles and the stakes of the same material.
The weights are:
465 g for the poles
95 g for stakes
975 g for the two sheets
275 g for the additional floor
all under 1800 grams for a spacious and comfortable tent.
The version we tested is the update of the previous CloudUp 2 to which NatureHike, thanks to the advice of many users in the field, added:
an air vent for ventilation in the back
two tie rods in the center of the walls
These two small changes have further improved it, increasing the circulation of internal air, minimizing the possibility of condensation even in colder climates.
The tent is built with excellent materials, with double waterproof seams and uses snap buckles from Duraflex, world leader in the production of plastic parts for outdoor use.
In conclusion, NatureHike’s Cloud Up offers quality of materials and attention to constructive details to the levels of well-known and expensive products, maintaining an extremely low weight for a two-person tent and two sheets. Personally I do not like the entrances on the short sides but the interior space was very large and livable.
